Ya cool! It came with 2 new strings. Any logo or marks? It looks like a great project.

Cool. I love those old guitars. I've got a few. Good luck with the restoration

I have not. Looks like it passed the ravaging test of time and improper storage tho!

It's not really in that bad of shape. You can go here and find plenty with that tail piece. Very common on the WWII era Harmonys.

You guys are killing me with these garage sale arch top finds! Okay, Lance, count me as one who would like to see the pictures re-sized. Nevertheless, I saw a feature that I find very interesting on your two-dollar find: A wooden tailpiece screwed directly into the tail block from on top. I don't see any way that can be original, but I think it's pretty cool.

Alright, bring it back to the best condition you can, and post (resized) pictures along the way, because there are at least a few arch top lovers out here who will be watching very closely.

Congrats on the find (I said grudgingly and with envy)!

See my comment above yours. It is very much an original piece to this wartime guitar.

I'm curious to know what model it is.

There is no tag, name sticker etc any where that I can find. If I come across anything I will post it here.

Hi, Tim,
Yes, I saw your post and all the others about it being a wartime factory tailpiece. Interesting! And it shows my limited knowledge of such things. I'm glad to be corrected. My problem was that all those other replies happened while I was composing my own, so I didn't see them until too late. Thanks for responding.

If it's a Harmony, which I think it is, there should be to stamps visible inside the F-hole one is the manufacture date and should read something like F-43 (fall 1943) or S-43 (spring 1943) and the other would be the model number and read something like H1327 0r H952 (but there are a ton of arch top numbers).
